All you really need to make for a good night is a few hundred people, no barricades and stacked line-up. That’s exactly what we get on Movements' 2019 USA tour.

On Saturday April 27th, California post-hardcore band, Movements, played the Waiting Room Lounge in Omaha. This was the band's first time playing in Nebraska and they didn't fail to entertain.
The night started off with punk band Drug Church. This band did a great job warming up the crowd with their high energy performance. During their set they encountered a few technical difficulties with the vocalists mic, but they quickly fixed it and continued to rock through the rest of their set. Many people were unfamiliar with Drug Church but they did not neglect to leave an impression on the audience and gain a few new fans.
Performing after Drug Church were UK punk bands Trash Boat and Boston Manor. Both bands were more well known, leading to an extreme increase in liveliness and chaos amongst the crowd. The stage diving and crowd surfing began during Trash Boat's set and quickly picked up throughout Boston Manor's set. Before this show I was fairly unfamiliar with all three of these artists but I definitely enjoyed each bands sound and instrumentation as well as their ability to keep the crowd moving and entertained.
After much anticipation, Movements took to the stage and absolutely killed it with their performance. The majority of the songs on the setlist were from their 2017 debut album Feel Something, along with a few songs from their 2016 Outgrown Things EP. Movements began their set with ‘The Grey’ from the album Feel Something. They gave a truly emotional performance accompanied by the singing and shouting of the fans in the crowd. Some other songs on the setlist include 'Colorblind', 'Worst Wishes' and 'Full Circle'. Towards the end of their set they played 'Suffer Through' which frontman Patrick Miranda said would their last song of the night. After finishing the band put down their instruments and left the stage. The crowd was not going to accept this and began chanting "one more song" and "Daylily". Movements returned for an encore and played 'Daylily', a fan favorite. This song is special for many fans and acted as a true show stopper.
The general atmosphere at this show can be described in one way, chaotic. Now, when I say chaotic, that is definitely not a bad thing. The energy from both the bands and the crowd was intense. At this particular show there were no barricades. This gets rid of that separation of band and crowd and creates the perfect setting for stage diving, which was highly encouraged. Along with this there were people crowd surfing and moshing, the biggest pits being during Boston Manor’s set. Although this show was not 100% danger free, it got everyone’s adrenaline pumping and made the show much more fun and exciting.
Something I found interesting about this show was the diversity in the crowd. Not everyone there was from Nebraska. Many people came from bordering states such as Iowa, Missouri and Kansas and drove hours to the venue. This shows that music has the power to really connect people bring total strangers together.
If you get the chance to see these artists on any remaining dates of the tour or on any future tours I highly recommend you do so. Each band gave 150% during their performance and made this an amazing show. Trust me, you will not regret it.
